Key Aspects of the CDMP Exam:
- What is it?It is a certification exam featuring 100 multiple-choice questions designed to test knowledge and application of the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK).
- Purpose:The main goal is to validate that professionals possess the necessary skills to handle, govern, and model data, acting as a "seal of approval" for their expertise.
- Certification Levels:
- Associate:Minimum 60% score needed, requires little to no experience.
- Practitioner:Minimum 70% score, requires 2+ years of experience.
- Master:Minimum 80% score, requires 10+ years of experience and contribution to the field.
- Significance: It is globally recognized, highly regarded in data governance, and often required for advanced data roles.
- Specialty Exams:In addition to the core "Fundamentals" exam, there are specialized exams focused on following topics:
- Data Governance
- Data Quality
- Data Modeling and Design
- Metadata Management
- Master and Reference Data Management
- Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence
- Data Integration and Interoperability
